Project

Standardizing Carbon Footprint Calculations of Clinical Care Delivery

Project Description

To help shepherd and grow early-stage innovations toward climate-smart healthcare, it is crucial to develop a standardized approach to measuring the carbon footprint of clinical operations. The team will study how to integrate carbon accounting into care delivery operations and decision making, by forming a research and development group named CHIL, Climate Health Informatics Lab.

Impact

The team will develop standards for measuring the carbon footprint of healthcare. This project contributes to Stanford Health Care’s carbon footprint reduction goals.
